Hang On!hang_on
When we decided to embark on this journey neither I nor JorDonna were fully aware of what we were getting into. However, I did realize that my wife had truly found her passion and that this could be a bumpy road initially. JorDonna would need all the support I could offer.

Emotions
Emotions are a powerful part of human character. I knew it wouldn’t be fun at first, but JorDonna (and I) would need to come to grips with the idea of risking actual money in the market. With that in mind, I brought JorDonna some actual cash to trade within two weeks of her studying options. My instructions to her: “Go try to lose it!”. I said this because I needed herscared to know that I wouldn’t be upset if she lost a little money through the learning process… after all, education isn’t free. I will admit, that those first few months were hard. Watching her stew over fluctuations in the market wasn’t fun for either of us. I would try to be encouraging each step of the way– reminding her of all the money I had lost in business before getting a feel for things.

How Things Have Changed
Now, JorDonna has been trading for 16 months. At this point Options have been her main focus, but she is actively studying the Forex as well as the Futures market. I really admire her dedication and know that she truly loves what she is doing. Now, we are teaching our 6 year old son, Jadon, to trade options as well. He took the money from his savings account, $350, and turned it into $600 in 7 weeks on his first trade. It is exciting to us to think that as we continue to coach and train our kids, they will have a skill that will sustain their financial needs for a lifetime. At this point, we are actively changing our way of living from my working for money, to our family (JorDonna) directing money to work for us. What a new and exciting experience!Mr Mom

What do I do now?
OK, now lets get real… This has not been a cake walk for me. I am used to busting my butt and making things happen. I have been self employed for 14 years now. Recently, it seems that everything has changed. After two downsizes, and now moving my design firm to our home, we are actually pursuing a totally new lifestyle. (JorDonna talks about the different business setbacks I have experienced over these past few years in her about me page.) I am used to knowing how much money is coming in and how much is going out all the time. (Did I mention that I am a bit of a control freak?) Now, as we shift our focus, I am here at home helping to take care of the kids, and home schooling my eldest son. JorDonna is spending much of her time studying the market, and learning new strategies.

Please don’t get me wrong and think that trading takes a ton of time. It truly doesn’t. However, our family is trying to rapidly change the way we make our living. So, right now, JorDonna is actively training, and studying this new career virtually every day.

AbyssThese days, I tell JorDonna that I feel a bit like the actor in the movie the The Abyss. You know, the guy who donned the prototype suit and forces his body to breath liquid? It almost killed him! However, once he managed to retrain his lungs, he was able to experience things no human had ever experienced before.
Wish me Luck!
